Answer: Yes, heavy rain can cause groundwater to infiltrate a septic tank, leading to overfilling and potential system failure.
Cause: Inferior or outdated septic systems are prone to spilling in rainy conditions, notably in colder seasons. Clear signs of this include nearby manholes spilling or blocking when it rains.

The Waste Collection Permit Regulations came into force in 2001. Anybody, other than a local authority, who collects waste for the purposes of profit or reward, is required by law to hold a Waste Collection Permit.
